Height safety for Melton, Werribee and the west.
Roof anchors, static lines, ladders, guardrail and plant platforms for schools, warehouses and heritage buildings in Melbourne's west. We come down the Western Freeway from Ballarat, so Melton and Bacchus Marsh are closer to us than to most of Melbourne.
Close to the west, by design
Melbourne's western suburbs sit on the road between Ballarat and the city. Melton, Bacchus Marsh and Caroline Springs are closer to our base than they are to a lot of Melbourne. That makes it practical for us to do one-off inspections and repairs, not just the big installs.
Schools, warehouses and heritage
The west is a mix. New schools and childcare centres in the growth areas, each with rooftop air conditioning that needs regular service. Large warehouses and distribution centres around Truganina, Laverton and Derrimut, with long metal roofs and plant spread across them. And some of Victoria's best-known heritage buildings, like Werribee Mansion.
We've worked on both ends of that. At Melton Christian College we put a guarded plant platform around the HVAC units. At Werribee Mansion we built a full access system on slate roofs that forgive nothing.
Height safety systems we install and certify in Western Melbourne
Roof anchor points
Single anchors for fall arrest or restraint, fixed into structure that can take the load, not just the sheeting.
Static lines
Horizontal lifelines so a worker stays connected while moving along a roof, a gutter or a ridge.
Roof guardrail
Fixed or freestanding rail at edges, around plant and at roof hatches, so nobody needs a harness to work there.
Roof walkways
Set routes to plant and gutters that keep people off brittle sheeting, skylights and slate.
Fixed ladders and ladder lines
Caged or uncaged ladders with landings to AS 1657, and vertical ladder lines that keep the climber attached.
Roof access hatches
A safe way through the roof from inside, with guardrail around the opening.
Plant platforms and step-overs
Level, guarded decks around HVAC units, and fixed crossings over pipework, ducts and roof level changes.
Internal access
Ladders, platforms and stairs to mezzanines, ceiling spaces and plant rooms.

Height safety in Western Melbourne: common questions
How far are you from Melton and Werribee?
Melton is about 50 minutes from our base in Ballarat, and Werribee a little over an hour. We group western suburbs jobs into the same trips where we can.
Do you work on schools?
Yes. At Melton Christian College we installed a Kattsafe HVAC plant platform for Rendine Constructions, so technicians service the rooftop units from a level, guarded deck. We work to school access rules and around term dates.
Can you work on heritage buildings?
Yes. At Werribee Mansion we installed the roof and internal access systems on the slate roofs to ICOM's design, with added timber structure and flashings detailed for slate.
Do you do warehouse and distribution centre roofs?
Yes. Large metal roofs need walkways to plant, guardrail at edges and around hatches, and anchors or static lines for the work in between. We install, certify and inspect all of it.
How often does a system need inspecting?
Usually every 12 months. The exact interval comes from the manufacturer and AS/NZS 1891.4, and we'll tell you what applies when we inspect it.
Can you inspect a system someone else installed?
Yes. Any brand, whoever installed it. If the records are missing, we inspect and tag it and rebuild the layout plan and logbook.
