Roof access system on a building at Hanwood in the Riverina PicturedMultiquip, Hanwood

Mildura and Sunraysia

Height safety for Mildura and Sunraysia.

Ladder lines, anchors, guardrail and walkways for packing sheds, wineries, cool stores and commercial buildings. We've delivered irrigation-country work at Hanwood in the Riverina, and we plan Sunraysia jobs the same way.

Irrigation country

Sunraysia grows dried fruit, table grapes, citrus, almonds and wine. The buildings that go with that are packing sheds, cool stores, processing plants and wineries, with big metal roofs, rooftop refrigeration plant, tank tops and mezzanines.

The Riverina is the same kind of country. At Hanwood we installed access ladders, a roof hatch, guardrail, anchors, static lines, and internal ladders and platforms, with materials and installation coordinated well ahead because the site was a long way from our base.

The trip is the hard part

Remote sites go years between inspections because nobody wants to make the drive. That's how anchors end up out of date and ladders end up failing. We'd rather plan a Sunraysia run, group the sites, and keep everyone on a regular cycle.

Tanks, catwalks and mezzanines

Winery tank tops and packing shed mezzanines are some of the most-climbed structures in the region. Fixed ladders, catwalks with guardrail, and stairs designed to AS 1657 make the climb and the work at the top safe without relying on a harness.

Height safety systems we install and certify in Mildura and Sunraysia

Roof anchor points

Single anchors for fall arrest or restraint, fixed into structure that can take the load, not just the sheeting.

Static lines

Horizontal lifelines so a worker stays connected while moving along a roof, a gutter or a ridge.

Roof guardrail

Fixed or freestanding rail at edges, around plant and at roof hatches, so nobody needs a harness to work there.

Roof walkways

Set routes to plant and gutters that keep people off brittle sheeting, skylights and slate.

Fixed ladders and ladder lines

Caged or uncaged ladders with landings to AS 1657, and vertical ladder lines that keep the climber attached.

Roof access hatches

A safe way through the roof from inside, with guardrail around the opening.

Plant platforms and step-overs

Level, guarded decks around HVAC units, and fixed crossings over pipework, ducts and roof level changes.

Internal access

Ladders, platforms and stairs to mezzanines, ceiling spaces and plant rooms.

FAQs

Height safety in Mildura and Sunraysia: common questions

Do you really work in Mildura?

Yes. It's a long way from everyone, including us, so we plan Sunraysia trips ahead and group sites together. We did the same for an interstate job at Hanwood in the Riverina.

Do you work on packing sheds, wineries and cool stores?

Yes. Ladders and platforms to tank tops and mezzanines, walkways and guardrail to rooftop refrigeration plant, and anchors or static lines for the work in between.

Do you work over the border in New South Wales?

Yes. We work interstate, including Wentworth and Buronga, and the Riverina.

Can you work around vintage and harvest?

Yes. Tell us your busy months and we'll plan the work outside them, or around your shifts if it can't wait.

How often does a system need inspecting?

Usually every 12 months. The exact interval comes from the manufacturer and AS/NZS 1891.4, and we'll tell you what applies when we inspect it.

Can you inspect a system someone else installed?

Yes. Any brand, whoever installed it. If the records are missing, we inspect and tag it and rebuild the layout plan and logbook.
