Ladders, handrail, platforms and anchors so trades can get up, get across and work safely on a roof with more than one level.
What the job needed
Getting onto a roof is one problem. Moving around it safely is another.
At 18 Lyons St South the roof steps between levels and there's solar to work around. A single anchor, or a ladder at one end, doesn't cover that. Whoever services the panels or the plant needs a safe way up, a safe way across, and protection at the edges the whole time they're up there.
What we did
For SJ Weir we put together the whole package rather than a set of separate items:
- Safety ladders to get between the roof levels
- Handrail along the exposed edges
- Platforms where the roof changes height
- Safety anchors for any work that has to happen outside the handrail
Handover
Certified on completion, with the documentation SJ Weir needed to hand the building over.
